VCR TOP
Sleeveless knitted top. Made of VCR tapes. This top is knitted round and has no seams on the side. It is made of the magnetic tape that we used to make the OSCAR DRESS for Donata Wenders. She wore it to the The Academy Awards when the fim "Perfect Days" from Wim Wenders was nominated for an Oscar. For anyone who has seen the movie Donata has created the dream sequences in the movie.
Magnetic tape was originally invented for recording in 1928. Myler Magnetic tape revolutionized sound recording and reproduction and broadcasting. It allowed radio, which had always been broadcast live, to be recorded for later or repeated airing. In the 1980s VHS captured the home video recording and reproduction market. The last VHS tape was released 2006. It is likely you or your parents still have a box of VHR tapes tucked away somewhere. Whether you have not yet wanted to part with your original Star Wars tape or you've just forgotten about them. These monoliths of outdated technology offer a striking critique of image production.

Our Values
We produce in small family-run factories mainly in the vicinity of Berlin. We are committed to fostering a wholesome environment - on a human scale, with respect to the natural resources, climate, environment, durability and our collaboration partners.
One exception is our pleated garments. They are produced in a small factory in Hong Kong since we could not find that expertise in Europe.
