VCR SWEATER
Oversized knitted sweater. Made of VCR tapes. It is made of the same technique as the OSCARS Dress we made for Donata Wenders who shot the dream sequences for the movie "Perfect Days" which is the Wim Wenders film that was nominated for the Academy Awards.
Magnetic tape was originally invented for recording in 1928. Myler Magnetic tape revolutionized sound recording and reproduction and broadcasting. It allowed radio, which had always been broadcast live, to be recorded for later or repeated airing. In the 1980s VHS captured the home video recording and reproduction market. The last VHS tape was released 2006. It is likely you or your parents still have a box of VCR tapes tucked away somewhere. Whether you have not yet wanted to part with your original Star Wars tape or you've just forgotten about them. These monoliths of outdated technology offer a striking critique of image production.

Our Values
We produce in small family-run factories mainly in the vicinity of Berlin. We are committed to fostering a wholesome environment - on a human scale, with respect to the natural resources, climate, environment, durability and our collaboration partners.
One exception is our pleated garments. They are produced in a small factory in Hong Kong since we could not find that expertise in Europe.
